Our team, along with our specialist diagnostic equipment allows us to make accurate and timely diagnostics and repairs to your vehicle.

On top of our diagnostics tools and extensive industry knowledge, we also have access to various computer programs to help us find and diagnose common vehicle issues.

Once your vehicle is diagnosed, we will be able to provide you an estimated cost to fix and help you get your vehicle repaired and back on the road again.

The diagnostics process and how it works:
  • Our diagnostics process starts with getting as much information from the customer as we can to help with our investigations and diagnostics. Some questions include
    • Does this happen when the vehicle is hot or cold?
    • Is it in the morning, at night or all the time?
    • Have you noticed any consistencies of when the problem occurs?
  • Once we have the background information we will connect our diagnostics tool to your vehicles computer to see if any codes have been logged.
  • We can then use our experience as well as access to various diagnostics programs to research these codes to find the approximate location of the issue
  • Sometimes we need to use parts to help us to diagnose the issue.

Case Study

Customer explains the vehicle is driving very rough. It’s coughing and splattering and the engine is vibrating and moving.

We ask the customer if this is happening all the time or only at certain times of the day, if it happens at certain speeds and if there is anything further they can tell us?

Customer says it’s happening all the time and gets really bad over 80kms an hour.

We start our diagnostics…

  • We connect the vehicle to our diagnostics tool and find codes for misfires on all cylinders.
  • Due to our experience, we decided to look at the spark plugs. We found spark plugs to be burnt out.
  • All spark plugs are inspected and replaced.
  • We connect our diagnostics tool again to find there is still a misfire on cylinder 3.
  • Again due to experience we know to look at the ignition coils and swap the coils for cylinder 3 with another cylinder to see if the code follows the coil.
  • We connect our diagnostics tool again and find the misfire has moved coils to where we relocated it, confirming it has a faulty ignition coil.
  • We replace the coil, connect to our diagnostics tool and find all codes have cleared.
  • We test drive the vehicle and the vehicle is running smoothly again.
